ERRAC is happy to announce that after 20 years, it has renewed its look and launched a brand new logo.
ERRAC was launched in 2001 to help revitalise Europe’s rail sector and make it more competitive by fostering and guiding research and innovation efforts. Now, after 20 years, its members decided it was time to renew its visual identity.
We were happy to work with Swiss national rail operator SBB (the Schweizerische Bundesbahnen) on this new logo, and specifically with Project Manager Railway Systems Dominic Stucki. Next to his technical skills, Dominic is a graphic designer. He explains below how the new logo – named “The Switch” came into being.
“Switches are a basic but very important part of every rail system. They allow one of the core functionalities of railways: Building networks and thus connecting communities and markets – something the railways have always done well at and still are. This symbol fits perfectly for ERRAC, a platform connecting all the players in the rail research field and facilitating the further development of Europe’s railway network.”
